#85: This week, Liz and Bryce bring you a live episode from the Multiple Pathways of Recovery Conference (MPRC) in Des Moines, Iowa. The conference, hosted by The Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR), gathered recovery leaders and professionals from around the United States to connect and educate each other. On stage, Liz and Bryce are joined by Jacki Hillios and Meghann Perry for a conversation on all the ways that folks can live fulfilling and fun lives in recovery. Tune into the episode to hear the discussion, including:
- What does fun look like in recovery, and why is fun important?
- The joyful and rewarding experience of watching others experience joy.
- Finding moments of connection and disconnection in sweet harmony. For Bryce it is music, for Liz's it's yoga. What is yours?
- In the moments we hesitate to move forward and we feel stuck, Jacki reminds us to start by taking a step.
- Boredom is a gift: it's a space to reflect, imagine, and be present.
- Looking at fun as a dimension of wellness, especially when incorporated into the journey of discovery that recovery offers us.
