Welcome to Season 2 of Mind Your Head! In our first episode, we delve into a powerful story that underlines the significance of maintaining a positive outlook. Shari courageously shares her journey of grappling with profound physical changes, enduring years of medical uncertainty, and the relentless blame placed on her for these transformations.

For seven long years, Shari navigated living with an undiagnosed condition, facing countless medical professionals who couldn't provide the answers she desperately sought. It was only within the last few years that she was given a diagnosis, and answers to the mysteries behind her struggles – Acromegaly, a disorder triggered by an excess production of growth hormone, primarily originating from the pituitary gland. This hormone governs the physical growth of the body, and an overabundance in adults results in the enlargement of bones, cartilage, and various tissues.

Shari candidly recounts the pivotal night when her diagnosis finally emerged, shedding light on the challenges faced during those seven undiagnosed years. Despite the adversity she faced, Shari emphasises the power of gratitude and positivity in navigating hardships.

Join us as we explore Shari's inspiring journey, reminding us all of the resilience found in embracing optimism during life's toughest moments.
