We are excited to have Sara & Misasha, the co-hosts of the Dear White Women Podcast on the show today! Dear White Women is a social justice podcast for busy people who wish they knew more about race, happiness, history & current events in the United States (seems pretty relevant to us right now, and especially in light of the 2020 election.) Their personal drive to leave this world a better place for our children became the impetus for their show, and each episode builds on their shared core beliefs in the humanity of all people and that we rise by lifting others.

Sara and Misasha are best friends who met when they were walking out of a racial identity conversation (they're both half-White and half-Japanese) as undergraduates at Harvard. Misasha is married to a Black man, is a lawyer, amateur historian, and Megaformer fitness coach; Sara is married to a White Canadian, and is a life coach, positive psychology aficionado, and happiness consultant - and together, they have four very mixed-race school-aged children.

As a mom of a mixed race family, Randi loves to give air time to this important dialogue around race in our modern world.

In this episode Randi, Sara and Misasha dive into:

-Each of their unique experience with race based on their heritage, upbringing and current family dynamic.

-Owning your experience but being aware there’s a whole experience you might not know about.

-Bringing up mixed race kids and why our children are our greatest teachers.

-Having conversations with children around history such as slavery and the holocaust.

-The way we influence our circles and the power that women have.

-Defining who you are as mixed raced especially when speaking to kids.
