60. How to Hone your Habit of Relaxing Amid the Chaos

Have you ever had one of those moments where you seemed to be in another world? Zoned out, lost in your own mind?🤔
Your friends or family might lean in close and snap you out of it, wondering what you were thinking.
If so, then you have found yourself on a spontaneous relaxation journey.🤗
You may or may not have been deep in thought.
You may or may not have been taking in some scenery🌴 or other sensation.
Inevitably, you will feel at least a tiny bit more at peace when you come back into the world🌍 around you.
Today, on Episode #60 of the Habit Thrive Podcast, we are exploring how to use these little moments to relax amid the chaos.🤯
Relaxation does not have to mean meditating by a lake or taking a nap on the couch.
You can find little snippets of relaxation nearly anywhere at any time:
- at home when the kids or grandkids have been running wild👶
- at work when the phones just seem to keep ringing📞
- at a social gathering where everyone is talking all at once👩👩👦👦
- at a music festival (like I did) where you’re surrounded by hundreds of strangers and blaring music🎤
Carve out little moments where you can listen to your breath for 5 minutes, take a bath in your hotel with your favorite essential oils or just close your eyes and listen for a moment.
You don’t need the perfect setting, the perfect timing or the perfect tools in order to relax. If you do, that’s great! If not, that’s OK👌, too.
Both planned and spontaneous relaxation will result in better sleep and a happier next day and day after that.
