If you find that you have begun committing to things that are not bringing you closer to your goals, then it is important to remember what the original building blocks of your strategy were. If you have current commitments that are not helping you, then you might want to do some re-prioritizing, so that your direction lines back up with your future goals. You can get very distracted if you get caught up doing activities that are not going to help you in the long run, and quickly veer you off course.
