Manage episode 397460978 series 2084593
Greetings, Leaders.
Rejoice! Again, I say rejoice!
Expressing gratitude is the best way to ignite your vision for the best God has in store for us on our life and career journey.
King David, the greatest king, modeled his rejoicing over the victories God gave him on his life and career journey. This rejoicing empowers him to envision and do even greater things in the future, and so can we.
"O LORD, the king rejoices in your strength. How great is his joy in the victories you give! You have granted him the desire of his heart and have not withheld the request of his lips. King David - Psalm 21:1-2
How did King David accomplish great things, and what can we learn from his leadership?
His priority was to prepare himself as a leader in three ways.
A clean heart.
"Create in me a clean heart, O God;
restore within me a sense of being brand new.
Do not throw me far away from Your presence,
and do not remove Your Holy Spirit from me.
Give back to me the deep delight of being saved by You;
let Your willing Spirit sustain me." King David, Psalm 51:10 -12
A clear conscience.
David knew that integrity would impact his life and career as a leader.
"I will behave wisely and follow the way of integrity. When will You come to me? I will walk in my house in integrity and with a blameless heart." King David, Psalm 101:2
A confident mind.
David's deliberate focus on preparing himself for leadership gives him confidence and assurance that he follows God's plan for his life and career.
"The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand." King David, Psalm 37:23-24
"Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, in this I will be confident." King David, King David, Psalm 27:3
Consider these three benefits of a clean heart, clear conscience, and confident mind.
Conviction: Knowing God is with you, guiding and helping you.
Courage: Standing firm against fear and unbelief and believe God's promises.
Confidence: God will instruct, teach, and guide you step by step.
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." Psalm 32:8
The outcome:
"Take delight in the Lord; he will give you your heart's desires.
Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust him, and he will help you.
He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn,
and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun."
King David, Psalm 37:4-6
Rest in God's faithfulness "moment by moment - day by day" as you work in life and your career.
He who calls you is faithful. He will do it!
Victory!
