On this week's episode of Millennials and Money, our guest Restaurateur and owner of Mikuni Taro Arai
shares his money story. Taro was born in Japan where he never could seem to fit in, eventually, he saved
up enough of his own money from a paper route to pay for his whole family to immigrate to America.
Despite having no business or restaurant experience his dad decided to follow a dream God gave him to
open a sushi restaurant. For the first 5 years, the sushi restaurant struggled to the point they could not
afford to buy fish. His father continued to trust God and had another dream that as long as he kept giving
he would one day have 1000 customers a day. One Miracle lead to the next and his dad's dream came true
and now Mikuni has 8 locations nationwide, over 1000 employees, and over $62 million in annual sales.
Taro still continues to give back to God and the community. Hear why he considers himself the happiest
man ever and why he credits his success to “Kaizen” which means circle of continuous improvement. Taro
says it all about networking “it's not what you know it's who you know”. Be sure to check out some of
Taro's books “Abundance” and “Appreciation”.
