Faith: God's Responsibility vs My Responsibility is a message I preached at my local church, Glory City Church Brisbane, on 18 Dec 2020.
Was an interesting topic to dive into and I’m sure there are many different opinions on the matter.
Faith is a huge topic and my short message would hardly do the topic justice; but it’s a question worth asking.
I think too often as believers we lean back on God’s “sovereignty” and just believe He will do it all.
When I read my Bible I see Jesus painting a different picture in regards to how He interacted with the disciples and what He expected of them.
I am a huge believer in God’s grace and unmerited favour; I’m certainly not proposing a Christianity of works under condemnation or an idea that God is a cruel taskmaster.
I do see Jesus raising up disciples, and therefore us, as mature sons and daughters who will co-labour with Him - and that includes being a people of strong faith and unwavering belief.
To that end, dive into the message and I hope it blesses you, maybe even clarifies a few things and helps you lead that more authentic and empowered Christian life.
