Scott & Marcus joined us online from Andorra, where they are both experienced BASI snowsports instructors. We talk in particular about their work in adaptive snowsports, where they use their knowledge and skills to allow, or assist, people with wide-ranging disabilities to experience the physical and mental well-being benefits to be gained through participating in snowsports.
BASI - The British Association of Snowsport Instructors (BASI) is a UK based membership association responsible for the training and licensing of snowsport instructors and coaches. They are the awarding body overseeing training courses and professional qualifications for 5 disciplines (Ski, Snowboard, Telemark, Adaptive and Cross Country) in instructing and coaching.
DSUK - Disability Snowsports UK has over forty years experience of teaching adaptive snowsports. DSUK hold a firm belief that taking part in adaptive snowsport can transform a person’s relationship with not just their disability, but with all aspects of their lives.
National Star are an organisation who have been working closely with DSUK, Scott & Marcus, to allow their students realise their potential.
