Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. This week we head to Paris to link with Gael “Gabbok” Bokongo, a Congolese-French Businessman and Family man who quit his job on Wall Street, started a media company and now travels the world with his 8 year old daughter Deïyna. Gael has been to over 108 countries and counting, traveling solo with his daughter on many of them. He talks to us about his journey from escaping war as a child, to a PhD in Mathematics, to Wall Street, and now raising a young woman as a digital nomad. He shares the story of his early life of travel (02:30), being a father-daughter duo traveling the world in search of adventure (13:35), his conflicted feelings on his home country DRC (25:55), quitting Wall Street to follow his travel passion (37:30), plus a discussion on improving the travel landscape for both Africans and Black people in the diaspora (46:10).
