It’s one of the oldest stereotypes in the world - the wicked step-parent, more monster than mother. But the fairytales have got it all wrong, according to mentor and coach Amy Stone, who joins us on today’s episode. After going through the trials of blending a family herself, she realised there were no guidelines, no self-help books - nothing out there on how to be a good step-parent. So, she decided to go out there and create her own! Amy speaks authentically and unapologetically about her own experience being a step-mum, and shares what she has learnt with both her countless clients and in her new book ‘Blend!’. Amy is a passionate advocate for all members of a new family and empowers them with the tools they need to create the life they deserve. Join us on the journey to shatter those evil step-parent myths, and embrace the reality that is the rise of blended families.
Some of Amy’s best advice from today’s episode:
🏡 Acknowledging the challenge of blending families
🏡 Recognising the importance of honest conversation - from the very beginning
🏡 Being flexible and resisting preconceived ideas
🏡 Keeping good relationships the priority across both families
