Finally we got to see the boys back on the field and what a night it was! It was a preseason friendly against a top team from the Eastern Conference, Louisville City FC but honestly, there was absolutely nothing friendly about it. It was full on!! The teams shared the spoils as the game finished in a tie, 2 all. Rising fan James Bacon is with us to talk through the action, including that new goal kick technique that we're not so sure about. Lots of take aways, lots of highlights, lots of fun.
Kelley McCarthy bring us part 4, the final part of our special off-season segment called "Where are they now?". In this segment Kelley looks at former Phoenix Rising favorites, she brings us up to speed about where they are now and she reflects on whether their time with Phoenix Rising benefited their careers. A fun segment with a serious side. This week a little more serious than fun as she turns the spotlight to Junior Flemmings (@Flemmo_77 on Twitter) who had incredible seasons with Rising but his time was marred by a controversy that put him, the club, and the league in a national spotlight. In recent months he made headlines again after accepting a transfer to a European team that reportedly paid the highest transfer fee ever for a player from the United Soccer League. So much to unpack!
