Hey there, my wise friends and welcome to another episode of Collective Wisdom. Today's episode is one that's very close to my heart and one that I'm extremely grateful to be sharing, as it brings with it a sense of hope and optimism that we may not all be feeling at the moment, given that there's so much bad news around us in the shape of war and scarcity.

What do you do in the face of a problem that seems so huge that it's impossible to solve?

That's a question my guest Scott Neeson came face to face with when he visited Cambodia almost 20 years ago and found children living and working on a huge landfill site, in conditions that most of us can't really conceive of. The answer seems to be that although he couldn't solve the entire problem, he could at least help one family get access to the medical help they so desperately needed. And then with a little financial support, get the children into school.

When he saw how simple it had been to make a difference to one family, he began to question how many more people he could help. That was the very humble beginnings of Cambodian Children's Fund back in 2004. Since then, through Scott's commitment to one family at a time, CCF has gone on to become a nonprofit that now empowers a whole community of people to support and help one another. And as you'll hear, it now has an impact on hundreds, probably 1000s of lives every single day, as Scott says himself. It's amazing what you can achieve when you commit to helping just one person at a time.
