Focusing on others allows us to get outside of our own fears and concerns, find and meet needs, and truly be there for people. Feeling the need to have an answer gets in the way of hearing what is being said and felt by the other person. He encourages us to recognize both the uniqueness and the singularity of the moment, as this moment will never repeat itself again. There are dozens of golden nuggets in this important conversation.
