14. Remembering What's Important to You with Kristen Gibbons Feden
Manage episode 281598985 series 2846651
Kristen Gibbons Feden fights for survivors of sexual assault and abuse in their pursuit of civil justice as an attorney at Saltz, Mongeluzzi & Bendesky in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She has spent her career passionately fighting for justice, both as a civil trial lawyer, and as a prosecutor.
She is well known as the prosecutor who stared down Bill Cosby, when she tapped into her passion while delivering the closing argument that helped to obtain the conviction in that case.
While seemingly at the top of her game career-wise, Kristen's long hours took a toll on her and on her kids. In this episode, she acknowledges that being a mom and a trial lawyer is not easy. She has experienced the crushing mom guilt we all get from time to time. A particularly low point motivated her to make some meaningful changes at home, and at work. It all comes back to remembering what is important to you. Kristen shares how taking time to reflect was key. Her passion for motherhood, for advocating for victims in the courtroom, and for finding a way to enjoy both can give us all ideas on how to thrive in the chaos.
