In any form of dance and movement, training is a way of life. You have to work your body, whether by external advisers or by yourself. While it is natural for training to impose a level of discomfort, when do we say it's time for our body to rest?

In this episode of Dance to Heal, Jenny is joined by her son, Daniel Rei Cohen as they talk about his experiences growing up with elite sports, gymnastics, and dance, and their mental, physical and emotional challenges. Together, their stories convey the wisdom in listening to your body when dance hurt.

What to expect in this episode:
01:54 – Jenny's twins: growing up in elite sports and gymnastics

02:56 – A sad reality for very young elite athletes

04:35 – On listening to our bodies and an accident story

08:12 – A video of Daniel's dancing

10:48 – Daniel on Dancing: being in the present.

12:04 – Seeking emotional and physical balance.

14:26 – On listening to your body and about safe uncomfortableness

16:38 – On comparing yourself with anybody else and finding it in you.
