We think of dance mostly as a form of representation of each culture, but it can also be a vessel of heritage handed down to succeeding generations. About Kapua:
Nicholas "Kapua" Arrivas, is an independent artist hailing from the Bay Area, CA, with roots in Guam and the Philippines. Based in LA, he excels in music, dance, and entertainment. Kapua's diverse background, which includes Polynesian dance, hip hop, jazz, modern, and contemporary styles has shaped him into a versatile performer. Growing up, his exposure to music and dance stems from both sides of his family, with his dad being a DJ and his mom's dance-loving nature. He became a freshman at the Mission Dance and Performing Arts at the age of 14, and eventually ended up teaching there a little later in life. In early 2021, Kapua ventured into music, releasing his debut single "KING" followed by the summer anthem "TOON TOON." Through his art, Kapua aims to bring joy, unity, and compassion to people globally, driven by his love for his craft and the support of his family.
