One of the most crippling problems in American healthcare is the cost of care through self-insured employers – which is how approximately 40% of all healthcare is paid for in the US. Second, due to the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA), self-insured employers are now going to be held accountable for the fiduciary responsibility of their employees’ healthcare costs – the recent class action suit against J&J is an example of that.
