Dr Roger Zaldivar is a refractive and cataract surgeon at the Instituto Zaldivar in Mendoza, Argentina, a multi-generation ophthalmology practice. Recently he has produced an AI method of sizing phakic IOLs like the Visian ICL using image data from ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM). And his practice now often prefers implanting a phakic IOL instead of corneal laser vision correction and he implants about 1000 phakic lens implants per year. In this podcast we talk all about phakic IOLs, choosing the best refractive procedure for a specific patient, and his path in ophthalmology.
