We examine the real horror, which is, of course, capitalism, in both these films. We also look at connections to the trickster figure in the folklore of Indigenous people, a queer reading of the relationship between Mario and Luigi, Mother Nature fighting back against the bald greed of the desperate characters in both of these films.
