Find the errors - 01
Manage episode 302534873 series 2931064
This podcast has two parts. In the first part there are ten sentences. Each sentence has an error in it, a mistake. See if you can find the error. In the second part of the podcast the errors are corrected and you will have a chance to listen and repeat the corrected sentences.
Here’s an example:
Mr. Johnson drived his car to work yesterday.
Did you hear the mistake? The verb “to drive” is irregular. The correct form of this verb in the past tense is “drove” — so the corrected sentence is: Mr. Johnson drove his car to work yesterday.
Here’s one more example and note that in this sentence, the error will be a pronunciation error.
“Pablo thought the test was very easy.”
Did you hear any words pronounced incorrectly? If you thought “easy” was pronounced incorrectly, you were right! The letter “s” in “easy” is always pronounced with a “z” sound. Easy. Easy. Easy. Pablo thought the test was very easy.
Okay, let’s begin. I’ll read each sentence two times. Make a note of the mistakes and then see how you did when I read the correct sentences.
Sentences with errors:
1. Maria worked very hard all day.
2. My boss told to me to go home because I was feeling sick.
3. The little boy runned home as fast as he could.
4. Do you think is a good idea?
5. I’ll probably visit you in Tuesday.
6. Can I borrow some sugar. Sure, how many do you need?
7. Penelope was in a car accident. She is not happy!
8. That man has a strange accent.
9. Susan was driving a bright yellow car.
10. Have you ever be in Mexico City?
============= Stop STOP Stop =============
Don't read the corrected sentences below UNTIL you listen to the first ten sentences ABOVE and try to find the errors. They could be grammar errors or pronunciation errors.
