Do not try harder, try surrender:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3. 5-6).
Surrender is at the core of trusting God with all your heart.
Surrender happens when you know that you don’t know.
When you know that you cannot think or see your way through from where you are.
When you stop leaning on your own limited understanding.
When you accept that there is a God, and it is not you!
When you take your spouse off your potter's wheel. Because you are not the potter!
When you submit all your plans, dreams and schemes to God, the Father of Jesus Christ the Lord.
Until such time, you will continue to work harder, guided by the delusion of being in control of your life.
Stop trying! Try surrendering!
