In this episode, we welcome Matt Greiner back to the show. He is the drummer and one of the founding members of one of the biggest metalcore bands of all time: August Burns Red. They just recently released their 10th full-length studio album called Death Below. In this interview, we discuss what got him into music, how he was able to start a heavy metal band while located in Amish Country, why people automatically assume that all metal music is satanic (spoiler alert: it’s not), why the members of August Burns Red decided to not call themselves a “Christian metal band”, how he ministers to fans at his shows, what it’s been like to be in a successful band for 20+ years, the one ABR album and one ABR song he would leave for humanity, which ABR song Kyle says is like the musical personification of wagyu beef, how he sees his band’s sound evolving as the members age, and much more. Let’s get into it…
