Emmy and ACE award winning Producer & Director Steve Binder went from the mailroom of a Hollywood studio to directing a primetime network TV show in his 20's, to working with most of America's best known musicians.

In this episode, find out how Steve Binder landed the role of directing the "Elvis Presley 1968 Comeback Special," and what Elvis said when Steve told Elvis his career was in the toilet, and so much more about working with the King!

Listen to him talk about working with Diana Ross, hear how he gave James Brown his first TV performance and created a touching moment in the fight for racial equality with a performance by Petula Clarke & Harry Belafonte.
Steve has been honored at the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame and the Grammy Museum and served as Governor at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, representing the director’s peer group. His hardcover book: “The Story Behind the Special '', about directing the Elvis Presley Comeback is available for pre-order on Amazon (here) and will be released in April 2022.

We also spoke to Joe Escalante about working with Chuck Norris, life with The Vandals, learning to speak modern Icelandic and more!
