Welcome to the Third Sunday of Advent! This week we light the pink candle, otherwise known as the symbol of "Joy".
The third candle of Advent is also known as the Shepherd Candle and reflects the joy that comes through Jesus' arrival, and through the salvation he has gifted us. The third Sunday traditionally recalls John the Baptizer's call for repentance. It has been identified in some traditions as "Gaudete," a day of joy and rejoicing.
