The Remote Edition IG @theremoteedition Suzie IG @suzieclark_ This week I interview Jaira Romero, Founder of remote job platform Remote Woman. Jaira worked in the TV and Media sector for many years in New York before deciding she wanted to travel the world with her fiance and work remotely. As her current job didn't allow her to work remotely, she set out in search of a remote job. She found it really difficult to find good quality, remote jobs to apply to. She decided to do something about it and created Remote Woman, a platform with curated remote jobs for women. She works with companies such as Stripe, GitHub and Close to share their amazing remote opportunities with her audience of highly-skilled, talented women in search of remote opportunities. We chat all about how remote work is the future, how you can look for a remote job and demystifying some common misconceptions around remote work. Curious about remote jobs? This episode is for you! Remote Woman IG @remote_woman Twitter: @remote_woman Website: https://remotewoman.com/ About this podcast... Welcome to The Remote Edition Podcast where we bring you the latest from the world of remote work. We share stories from people working remotely from all over the world. Whether they are entrepreneurs, digital nomads, freelancers, people who have remote jobs or coworking spaces we are sharing their stories. Whether you’re already working remotely, thinking about it or even managing a distributed team, this podcast is for YOU. About me (your host)... Hey I'm Suzie, I spent 6 years working in corporate sales roles in London including the largest Investment bank in the world and a San Francisco fintech unicorn. Despite these being quite impressive jobs to a lot of people, I always felt like something was missing. The routine started to really get me down so I did a lot of soul searching until I decided to quit my job, start a podcast and move to Bali to explore the world of remote work. What I discovered amazed me, there are entire communities of super smart and talented people working and living remotely, from all over the world, all doing different things and actually EXCITED about their work. I learned that many of them had left huge corporate jobs because they were restricted to staying in one place and had experienced similar things to me. From then on I became obsessed with this way of working, it opens up so many opportunities for you to travel, spend more time with loved ones or just do more things you love all whilst being more productive and generally happier. It also levels the playing field for global talent which is something I think can really change the economic landscape, solve issues in overpopulated cities and ultimately contribute to reducing global inequality. I want to help more people take advantage of this amazing way of working. Through my guest's stories, you will learn all about how they came to work remotely and the tips you can take into your own career and business.
