June 19th is also known as "Juneteenth" - a holiday often called "America's second Independence Day" commemorating the end of American slavery. While it has been celebrated since 1866, it was only recently recognized as a federal holiday, and we were excited to learn more about the history and tradition of this worthwhile American celebration.
