In this series of episodes our manager and trainer Sam Harris gives us some short 15 minutes discussions around particular ideas and concepts that have shaped the way BISnet supports individuals and families. This are ideas that could be applied to anyone with behaviour support needs or who is at risk of displaying challenging, aggressive or socially isolating behaviours. In this episode, he covers the idea of putting yourself first, to remain in the best place to support the person with challenging or socially isolating behaviours. As well as the importance of paying attention to what you do during a de-escalation as this is the main aspect that can be within your control.
