In today’s episode, I interviewed Ashrakat Elshehawy (Ash). Ash is a DPhil Student at the University of Oxford in the Department of Politics and International Relations. Ash was born and raised in Egypt and has traveled to Germany, Ireland, the US, and the UK for her education. In this conversation we discussed her path to academia, the people who have inspired her journey, and issues related to access to higher education for aspiring academics in the Arab world. Ash has been such a central figure of inspiration for me while I was at Oxford and I hope you find her story equally as inspiring!
