Episode 38: A Better Block with Mission San Jose Residents

Watching a once thriving and hopeful community, hobbling along without much to offer can be discouraging. But Better Block is an organization that helps communities discover what their community can do with just a little help and organization to make it better.
The Mission San Jose district of Fremont will be holding a large block party put together in part by Better Block, the local residents of the community, and our City officials. This is turning out to be quite the event. While so many places have been affected by the COVID shutdown, Mission San Jose is no exception. This type of event is helpful for the community to reengage and imagine possibilities within the community going forward.
Better Block Fremont will take place Friday, September 9 from 5-9pm and Saturday, September 10 from 11am-3pm at the corner of Washington Blvd and Ellsworth St in Mission San Jose. You can also volunteer to help paint, build, plant, and set up September 7-9. More info about the event and the place to register to be a volunteer can be found here.
