This episode is about the 79 CE eruption of Mount Vesuvius which buried and preserved the Roman city of Pompeii as an example of a real world apocalyptic event. We go over the mechanics of what happened, relying on the account of Pliny the Younger. Anderson's 2014 film, Pompeii, comparing it to a more successful disaster film, James Cameron's Titanic.
