Acts 3:6 But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver and gold for you. But I will give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!”
Our world constantly bombards us with new desires and needs, pushing us to become consumers. Unfortunately, this has caused many people to lose sight of what they truly need. It's common for us to ask for more money, when what we really need is discipline. We may pray for our spouse to change, but in reality, what we need is patience. Rather than asking for a new government, we should strive to respect those with differing opinions. While we pray for peace, it's important to have the courage to stand up for what is right. Instead of praying for the world to change, we should focus on changing ourselves.
We can certainly approach God with our requests, and He will hear us. However, it's important to understand that we may not always get what we want or when we want it. God will provide us with exactly what we need at the appropriate moment.
Dear God
In a world that is constantly pushing us to want more, help us to focus on what we truly need. Grant us the discipline to manage our resources wisely and the patience to persevere through challenging times. Help us to respect those with differing opinions and to have the courage to stand up for what is right. And above all, help us to recognize that the change we seek in the world begins with changing ourselves.
