The Chauncey Show-Episode 93 Meet Merle Rutledge former 2021 Gubernatorial candidate VA. Mr. Rutledge is pro business, pro castle doctrine, and pro constitutionalist. Mr Rutledge goal is to Turn Virginia Red Again is Imperative to making Virginia strong again. After moving to Norfolk, VA to attend Norfolk State University. I founded the local chapter of Phi Delta Psi Fraternity Inc. The fraternity national chapter is in Kalamazoo, Michigan. While at Norfolk State University I fought to build the first voting precinct at Norfolk State University following the Bush 2000 Election Victory. I also volunteered for the Children of the Sun, Urban League, and multiple projects for wellness with Sentara Hospital. All during this time, I learned and developed into a leader in the community. My fraternity was the first to host the Youth Leadership Conference in Hampton Roads that is facilitated by Children of the Sun, Urban League, and local police departments to develop youths into programs and outlets that set a positive role into the community. Currently I speak on issues that affect low income communities at local, state, and national levels. I do not have a problem with good police officers. I now work on public policy and civil rights issues in the Danville, VA and Pittsylvania County, Virginia area, and other local and state government agencies.
