The sports card industry and hobbyists were thrust into a state of flux this week upon receiving the bombshell news Sunday night that the NFL Players Association had terminated their trading card agreement with Panini and that they’d concurrently inked a new exclusive trading card deal with Fanatics, who purchased Topps Trading Card Company in January of 2022.
What does this all mean for Fanatics/Topps? For 2023 NFL football cards? For collectors? Much is still unknown. Here’s a breakdown of where things are at.
