On June 14th, 1969, six-year-old Dennis Martin disappeared on a family outing in the Spence Field area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The resulting investigation spanned the entire country and remains the largest ever search effort in the history of the park. The number of searchers grew to upwards of 1,400 people just days after the disappearance was reported. The police, FBI, and even the Green Berets were brought in to aid in the search for the lost child. No trace of Dennis Martin was ever found.

On this episode of The Terribly Vexed Podcast, we take a look the recently released FBI files related to the investigation and discuss some of the interesting events that took place. We hope you enjoy the show!
