The Peruvian Congress will debate this Thursday the dismissal of the members of the Supreme Court of Justice, a decision that has been criticized by national and international organizations for breaking the balance of powers and endangering the justice system.
In this sense, the social movements demonstrated this Wednesday to reject the institutional rupture and to repudiate the anti-constitutional acts of Congress, in the middle of a key moment for the legislature, which accumulates more than 90% of popular rejection and which recently decided, with the support of the right, to restore the bicameral system after three decades.
In Colombia, this Thursday, a plenary session of the Supreme Court of Justice will be held to reach a possible consensus and declare the election of the Attorney General of the Nation.
This, after several delays by the judicial body in naming one of the three candidates proposed by the government of President Petro to occupy the position.
President Petro rejected the installation of an interim position in the entity after the appointment of Marta Mancera as head of the institution, against whom traditional cases have been opened for her alleged involvement in acts of influence peddling.
