Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived on Monday in Cuba as the first stop on his tour of Latin American countries. During his stay in Cuba he will meet with Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla.
After Cuba, Lavrov will visit Venezuela and Brazil, where he will meet with Presidents Nicolas Maduro and Lula da Silva and then participate in the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting to be held in Brazil.
From February 20 to 25, Antony Blinken will visit several countries in the region, including a meeting with Lula in Brasilia, his subsequent participation in the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, and then travel to Buenos Aires to meet with Argentine President Javier Milei.
The International Court of Justice on Monday opened a public hearing, with testimony from a dozen countries, on the advisory opinion concerning the legal consequences of Israel's policies and practices on occupied Palestinian territory. The Court has scheduled six hearings and the first will begin with Palestinian arguments and then proceed on Tuesday with more than 50 countries including the Netherlands, South Africa, Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba and Russia.
