eSIM is an MSP opportunity, but who you get them from matters, GigSky Podcast
“If you remember the AT&T outage in February, our European customers that were in the US, we were able to move them over to a different operator when AT&T went down. They all stayed connected. So those are some examples of things that we can do on the consumer side because it’s our network,” says Sam King, Chief Commercial Officer of GigSky. GigSky is one of a handful of eSIM companies that are network operators that supply their own US-based eSIMs. As a mobile operator, the company can diagnose and fix issues if they arise. Purchasing an eSIM from an actual network operator also has other benefits, including an easier installation process with just a few taps of the screen.
“Unlike our competitors, we also have a B2B postpaid business. We’re very strong in the verticals of aviation, and logistics. We’ve also done some work in mining. We offer custom networking solutions for our enterprise customers. We can whitelist and blacklist websites on the network level, so you don’t have to invest in an MDM client to be able to do that. We can do custom VPN solutions, traffic routing, and other things that a big telco won’t usually do for their enterprise customers.”
In this podcast, we learn that eSIMs are an excellent channel opportunity, but picking the right partner, matters. GigSky has already had success in a number of verticals such as aviation, mining, logistics, and government.
