Allsportsnapper / Dean Mouhtaropoulos, Getty Images Sport photographer, has an open discussion on all things sports photography with guest, Francois Wieringa. A self employed Dutch Photographer with many skills but know as Long Track Speed Skating specialist. An experienced sports photographer who now travels the world following the fastest athletes on the planet in the long track format. Even though he classifies himself as the only speed skating specialist on the tour, you will hear throughout this interview that his skills are not just with a long lens. We speak about shooting film on Fuji cameras, the race to the bottom for photographer’s prices, the international fan base of speed skating, creating video content with 360 views, Virtual reality gets its first mention in the podcast and as you will here with his career experience we take a slight deviation and talk about the future of the image making industry as a whole. I hope you enjoy the conversation. He threw the bib on on the floor when Fabris crossed the finish. One week later he got the record back in Calgary. http://www.wieringaphotography.com/gallery/speedskating/100220va25.jpg Mark Tuitert can't believe he just won the gold medal at the Vancouver 1500 meter. I was standing just in front of his wife, hence the drama. http://www.wieringaphotography.com/gallery/speedskating/100227va07.jpg Anni Friesinger fell in the last meters of the team pursuit crossing the finish line on her belly. While she was crying she didn't notice her team still had the best time and that they won gold. It took about 15 seconds for that to sink in and when she started to cheer.
