Notes
The Christmas season is where we try to make life as we wish it would be.
Everyone wants GOODNESS
Everyone wants RELATIONSHIP
Everyone wants LOVE
Our chase to experience Christmas often leaves us exhausted, stressed, and glad when it’s over.
Our holiday chase reveals our need for someone to fix what we can’t.
Christmas isn’t meant to be a chase, it’s meant to be a celebration of a Savior who fixed what we couldn’t.
While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them.
- Daniel 2:34-35
…But the rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth.
- John 1:9-14
During the reigns of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed or conquered. It will crush all these kingdoms into nothingness, and it will stand forever. That is the meaning of the rock cut from the mountain, though not by human hands…
- Daniel 2:44-45
Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem…
Matthew 2:1-2
…asking, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.”
- Matthew 2:1-2
When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped him.
- Matthew 2: 10-11
Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
- Matthew 2: 10-11
The first Christmas reminds us that God’s promised goodness will never fail!
Why Celebrate:
We Remember His promised goodness
We Pass down His promised goodness
We Live out His promised goodness
Christmas isn’t chasing an impossible experience
It’s celebrating a faithful God who sent a Savior to fix what we couldn’t.
