In today’s episode, Anthony and Jaian welcome Neusha Taherian. She is a composer, musician, multi-instrumentalist, and classical trained pianist from Montreal, Quebec. Her expertise allows her to listen to all music with a keen eye, but she mainly specializes in electronic works, contemporary music, and soundtracks. Among some of her applications and background include deep-listening practices, acting, directing, graphic scores, and traditional Irish Music. She has a college diploma from John Abbott College in theatre, film, and communications. She also has a bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Music Composition from Concordia University, and is currently completing a master’s of Fine Arts in Music Composition for the Screen at Columbia College Chicago. Taherian is the co-founder of the Concordia Composers Guild, which has the goal of bridging the gap between music education and the industry. She is not only an extremely talented artist, but a selfless and community oriented individual in the industry. She has under her belt, experience as a writer and musical director for festivals, such as the Montreal Fringe Festival, being the musical director and composer for the project “Slaying in Suburbia” in 2018, being the composer for the play To Kill a Sacred Duck in 2019, and being a composer for Inner Path a short film by Camille Verreault. She is an incredibly inspiring figure with lots today and more to teach on this month’s episode.

Every episode, they will introduce a new guest and will dive into their beginnings and current participation, and contributions to the world of sound. Jaian and Anthony want to create a space to learn about their fellow sound professionals as well as provide their audience with the knowledge of the trade’s happenings and hopefully inspire future audio enthusiasts to join the field.
