Hey Everyone! In this episode I talk about some of the struggles Finn and I have had with specifically positive reinforcement training and just in general...the main one being overexcitement and not being able to balance a relaxed yet alert state. I also briefly talk about what we’ve been working on so far, what these small behaviors should hopefully add up to be (specifically with mat work and lateral flexion) as well as the importance of clicking both the horse’s desired Behaviour and a balanced mental + emotional state of mind. I hope you enjoy! Legal Disclaimer: This podcast documents how I taught my horse Finn certain behaviours. I thought it would be best, before we start our journey delving into the art of soft riding, to first introduce Finn and I. The episode will detail a little bit about myself and my previous riding experience, how finn and I met, our riding ambitions at the time and how we were introduced to clicker training. I also speak a little about HIT Active Stables and Paddock Paradises. I hope you enjoy! (This episode will be one of the few that’s so story-centered, I’m hoping future ones will be more educational and focused on practical application as well as inspiration for your positive reinforcement training).
