In episode forty-one, Tohru visits the Sohma estate to talk to Kureno on Uo’s behalf. By happenstance, she meets Momo, who is fascinated by Momiji and hopes Tohru can convince him to be her big brother. When Tohru speaks with Kureno, he vows to never speak to Uo again. In episode forty-two, it’s time for Tohru’s class trip to Kyoto! Romantic shenanigans are abound, while Tohru and Yuki find souvenirs to bring home. Yuki muses over the positive impact Tohru has had on his life and silently offers her gratitude. Kyo and Tohru spend some time alone. In episode forty-three, we learn about Rin and her difficult childhood, which culminated in her parents abandoning her in her teen years. Hatsuharu comes to her aid, and the two fall in love, only for Akito to disapprove of their relationship and horrifically injure Rin.
