Andy Grays has spent most of his working life (34 years) working in theatre, venue and events management. This includes managing 2 West End Theatres (the Lyric & Duchess Theatres), on the management team of 2 other West End Theatres (Theatre Royal Drury Lane and the Gielgud) and spells at the London Palladium and Her Majesty’s Theatre. In the West End he worked on the opening of Miss Saigon and the Olivier Award Winning ‘Five Guys Named Moe’, both with the producer Cameron Mackintosh. He started his career in theatres in Liverpool and worked at one of the country’s leading music venues The Manchester Apollo. Theatre management brings you into contact with many shows, artists and diverse audiences. As well as the shows mentioned above, Andy has worked on hundreds of great shows including Phantom of the Opera, A Chorus Line, Run for Your Wife, Joseph, Evita as well as with some of the world’s greatest music artists. In 2003 he opened the Hat Factory Arts Centre in Luton, helped set up the Luton Cultural Trust in 2008 and was appointed CEO of the Guildhall Trust in 2012. He oversaw the delivery of the UK largest one day carnival in Luton for several years and was Chair of the Bedfordshire Cultural Olympiad Forum.
