Elise’s 14 years of experience as an attorney has equipped her to speak and write on business development and career acceleration. Despite unfavorable labels such as shrewd, sharks, liars, and arrogant, most lawyers are introverts with a strong work ethic. Still, law firms implore their associates to bring in new business. So how does a shy, inexperienced counselor promote themselves and their firm?

According to experienced attorney Elise Holtzman, law schools’ inadequacy to teach pertinent business skills puts law graduates at a disadvantage. She recommends junior lawyers attend business development training to learn how to build relationships, become visible experts, and focus on the three pillars of business development: thoughts, time, and team. By design, business development helps inexperienced counselors overcome challenges, advance their careers, and stimulate business.

Today’s episode of The Cyber Business Podcast features Elise Holtzman, Founder and CEO of The Lawyer’s Edge.
