We begin with Hank Williams and “Why Don't You Love Me”. Dolly Parton's “Coat of Many Colors” is next. Dave intros “One More Drink” a song created and performed by Jim Owen. Dave mentions that this is a rare evening broadcast as he is sitting in for Six String Stu. Our next artist is Merle Travis. Dave gives a bit of history of Merle and plays John Henry Jr. Good Time Charlie's by Del Reeves released in 1969 is next in sound. We now hear "Country Club" is a song written by Catesby Jones and Dennis Lord, and recorded by American country music artist Travis Tritt. Another 1990's country singer is next, Trisha Yearwood - XXX's And OOO's (American Girl). Lewis Pruitt - Crazy Bullfrog from 1960 is next. "Got No Reason Now for Goin' Home" is a song written by Johnny Russell, and recorded by American country music artist Gene Watson. We hear that song now. Second Hand Rose by Roy Drusky is next. Dave has a bad connection but he will fix it. Dave p[lays a Polka for our regular listener, Josie. Polish Power, a Single by Frankie Yankovic is next. Dave mentions that his wife Susan will be joining him in the studio in a few minutes (always a great time). That's the first 30 minutes – There's 83 more minutes of Pioneers of country to go. They were forgotten by The Country Music Industry, Country Radio, and even The Grand Ole Opry – Pioneers of Country proudly remember those artists, and the music they made popular. Special Note: Most of the E-Mail, chat room, and web sites mentioned no longer exist. Your best bet to keep in contact with Pioneers Of Country is on Pod-O-Matic or on our Facebook Page.
