I couldn't fine any documentation on the broadcast, so it could probably be the first time this show was aired 11 years ago today. We begin with "Fourteen Carat Mind" a song written by Dallas Frazier and Larry Lee, and recorded by American country music artist Gene Watson. Dave opens the program with some comments. Next is “I Can't Help It” a song written and recorded by Hank Williams on MGM Records. It hit number two on the Billboard country singles chart in 1951. Dave speaks of some network difficulties in the studio. Next is "Ribbon of Darkness" a song written by Gordon Lightfoot that was released in 1965 as a single by Marty Robbins. The song was Robbins' eleventh number one hit. Dave gives a short bio on Marty Robbins. Del Reeves is next with Doodle-Oo-Doo-Doo released in 1965. Dave speaks of some of Del Reeves work. Listen next to The Battle of New Orleans by Johnny Horton. Dave reads an email from Ladd Dunham in Nova Scotia. He wanted us to say hello to a good friend in Oklahoma. Dave plays Merle Haggard and “Okie From Muskogee”. Dave plays a song by Ladd Dunham “Keys in the Mailbox”. Dave mentions the passing of Slim Whitman and gives a short bio and plays a few songs by Whitman. That's the first 30 minutes there's 83 more minutes to go. George Jones in up next.
