The God Journey is designed to facilitate an ever-expanding conversation with those who are thinking outside the box of organized religion. Our primary desire is to encourage people on their spiritual journey by sharing our own and by providing insightful commentary on what it means to grow in a relationship with God. We’ll discuss the realities of other people’s journeys, cultural trends, current events, and the Scriptures as well as fielding questions related to the challenging issues of life. The God Journey began in 2005 as a way for Wayne Jacobsen and Brad Cummings (See Brad’s bio below) to share their conversations about finding life outside the box of organized religion. Here were two brothers on a journey to discover the fullness of God’s life and sharing those journeys with you. As former pastors, authors and counselors, Wayne and Brad offer an engaging mix of wisdom, humor and compassion for those sorting out who God is and what it means to follow him. They talk freely about the failures of religion and the fallacies of secularism in our culture in an open, accessible dialogue that will be equally helpful, enlightening and entertaining to believers and nonbelievers alike. They celebrate the adventure of growing in the life of Jesus in an ever-increasing secular society in a way that is intelligently accessible and practically relevant. For seven years and 372 podcasts they shared that journey with thousands of listeners. All of those conversations are still available in our archive. In the fall of 2012 The God Journey has begun a new direction. Life has pulled Wayne and Brad in different directions and they found it increasingly difficult to find the time to do these podcasts together. While Brad may be a frequent guest from time to time, Wayne will go on to host the podcast and involve many more listeners in this expanding conversation.
