×Alcohol was slowly taking everything from me and was giving me absolutely nothing of value in return. December 25, 2018 was the last time I drank. I'm not sure if it will be forever but I am sure I am done for a long time. The thought of alcohol taking over in such a way that I could not stop by my own will always scared me. I'm glad I put an end to the excess well before that happened but now that I can see clearly, it pisses me off what I wasted for the sake of momentary escape and false-peace. I shot this video to share my story and to try to give hope and encouragement to others who might be suffering with this all alone. You are not alone. The change in my outlook and quality of life in just over a week has been shocking to put it mildly. May this be the catalyst that helps fuel the fire of change for others as others publicly sharing their stories has done for me. I want to thank the following people who's stories have directly and indirectly impacted me. Some of you didn't even know it so please keep doing what you're doing because people are paying attention even though they don't say so. Sarah, Brandon, Scotty, Nolan, Sam, Omar, Halley and last but certainly not least, my mom who battled a battle with alcohol that I can't even begin to imagine which took her to the brink of death. I know I am missing some people but if you're my friend and you've shared your struggle and victory over addiction, it has not gone unnoticed. And most importantly, I get to thank my beautiful and deserving wife Jill who stuck by me, never once shamed me, never once tried to force me to change and who always, always, always reminded me that I was better than this. She is such a blessing in my life that words could not even begin to come close to articulating how grateful and fortunate I am to have such an amazing partner to share my life with. I love enjoying alcohol. But the more I fell in love with waking up feeling good with a clear mind and a clear conscience, looking forward to a bright future, the less seductive that fleeting, momentary pleasure became. It hit me years ago that we really only have two choices in life; short term gain for long term pain or short term pain for long term gain. If you're struggling, reach out. Even though it doesn't seem like it, you are far from alone.…

Hey guys, I'm back in the studio and hoping to get back to regularly publishing content on Psycho Cybernetics. Life has been very very busy and when it gets that way, I need to trim some activities and this was one I had to trim for a period of time. I am really hoping to get back on this consistently and one of the things that increased my sense of urgency to get back at it, was the comments and messages I have received from people who are benefiting immensely from the book and content. So please, make sure if this is giving you value - please share that with me as that is the fuel for me to make this more of a priority. Jay =============== FROM PSYCHO CYBERNETICS: "I would argue that the most important psychological discovery of modern times is the discovery of the self image. By understanding your self image and by learning to modify it and manage it to suit your purposes, you gain incredible confidence and power. Whether we realize it or not, each of us carries within us a mental blueprint or picture of ourselves. It may be vague and ill-defined to our conscious gaze. In fact, it may not be consciously recognizable at all. But it is there, complete down to the last detail. This self image is our own conception of "the sort of person I am." It has been built up from our own beliefs about ourselves. Most of these beliefs about ourselves have unconsciously been formed from our past experiences, our successes and failures, our humiliations, our triumphs, and the way other people have reacted to us, especially in early childhood. From all these we mentally construct a self or a picture of our self. Once an idea or a belief about ourselves goes into this picture it becomes truth, as far as we personally are concerned. We do not question it’s validity, but proceed to act upon it just as if it were true. This self image then controls what you can and cannot accomplish, what is difficult or easy for you, even how others respond to you just as certainly and scientifically as a thermostat controls the temperature in your home. Specifically, all your actions, feelings, behavior, even your abilities, are always consistent with this self image. Note the word always. In short, you will act like the sort of person you conceive yourself to be. More importantly, you literally cannot act otherwise, in spite of all your conscious effort or will power. This is why trying to achieve something difficult with teeth gritted is a losing battle. Will power is not the answer. Self image management is." Have a listen and let me know your thoughts! Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/_gBG-LdRZVM Grab yourself a copy of The New Psycho Cybernetics here: https://amzn.to/2NMB5Ou I picked up Psycho Cybernetics and started reading for literally 3 seconds and was inspired to talk about what's discussed in this video. In this episode I dive into a topic that is very important to me and, next to the subject of visualization and role playing, this is right up there in terms of importance. In my opinion. Over concern for what people think about us is one of the biggest liabilities I see people dealing with on a constant basis. It robs people of their capacity to take risks, push through failure and defeat, take a stand and be different. The single phrase in Psycho Cybernetics that I read that inspired this session was, "...discovering your real self means the difference between freedom and the compulsions of conformity."…

When we're under pressure, we draw from that which we know and what we're comfortable with and often times, that is not success-producing actions. This concept which is so brilliantly layed out by Maxwell Maltz in Psycho Cybernetics is one of the most potent tools for rewiring how we see ourselves and allows us to create experiences of being competent and successful without taking any risks. The most beautiful part about this, as I can attest from first hand experience by using these principles by accident, unconsciously and…
I'm not shy about the fact that Psycho Cybernetics is my all time favorite book. It's incredibly practical, common sense stuff that has the power to change lives because it's all about changing our perspectives about life in general and about ourselves in particular. In this episode, I try to unpack what Psycho Cybernetics means. I wish they had titled the book a bit better because it makes it seem like the book is really technical and hard to understand and that name does not have much appeal. But it is really accurate with what the book is about and the incredible goal-striving machinery that we've been blessed with by virtue of being human. Have a listen and let me know your thoughts! My company: https://www.synergistmedia.com/ Watch this episode here: https://youtu.be/bjySIi2qCH8 Get The Book! - https://amzn.to/2NMB5Ou I love this book almost as much as life itself and that is why I have decided to make time to go through a comprehensive study of it with you for however long it takes. Cybernetics is the science of goal striving mechanisms and that is exactly what each of us owns. This book teaches you how to start using it for good instead of self-sabotage. Psycho Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz is the most practical and scientifically validated piece of work that I have ever been exposed to. I realized, after making major changes and improvements in my selling, communication, influence and negotiation skills that this book perfectly and succinctly explained to me how I did without even knowing. Because here;s the thing; I didn't read Psycho Cybernetics until years after I had made those rapid and life changing improvements.…
Allowing fear to win is one of the biggest reasons salespeople and people in general, don't take action. In the book, As A Man Thinketh, James Allen famously stated, "Thoughts of doubt and fear never accomplished anything, and never can. They always lead to failure. Purpose, energy, power to do, and all strong thoughts cease when doubt and fear creep in. The will to do springs from the knowledge that we can do. Doubt and fear are the great enemies of knowledge, and he who encourages them, who does not slay them, thwarts himself at every step. He who has conquered doubt and fear has conquered failure." In this episode, I talk about the tools I have used to overcome fear and failure. Watch Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4X0DnOilf8U…
One of the most helpful things that I have learned in selling is how to relieve the pressure in selling situations. I talk about that in this episode as well as how to NOT sell like a dog with it's tail between it's legs. There's is nothing enticing or attractive about timidity or desperation so we go through some tools that will help you get passed that. And finally... stop buying dumb shit. Money brings choices and freedom and to not have it because you're buying useless crap that does nothing to contribute to your goals is putting yourself at an extreme disadvantage. Stop trying to impress people who's opinions shouldn't matter. We get into that all and more. Want to watch it? Here's the video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKAdD1iQvFE…
This is a question that is impossible to answer because that answer is unique to each individual and their situation. But there are certain fundamental mistakes people make that will ruin them no matter how hard they try. We get into some of these issues here. Watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfoPRs8Zz_Q…
The question, "what is the most important key to being successful at sales?" was asked and I get into a long diatribe as I elaborate on what I think the answer is.
