Back in September, US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy issued a call to action: Step it Up. In an effort to encourage a health lifestyle, he’s encouraging us to not only be outside walking more, he’s also working with urban planners to encourage walkable communities.
I spoke to him about what this means for communities of color and people with mobility disabilities – people that often find challenges in accessing walkable communities.
